Happy Earth Day!
I wanted to share with you the steps and things I’m incorporating in my life to help out the environment a bit. Small change leads to bigger change. These may be baby steps to some but I hope to keep on incorporating better options, like reusable and Eco-friendly items, to my daily life. For that matter, I’m showing you guys what’s currently in my shopping cart in hopes that it inspires you to make these small changes, or even bigger ones, to help out the environment.
Also, any advice is welcomed. Let’s keep the conversation going.
#1: No plastic straws. Opt for drinking your drink with no straw or carry in your bag a reusable one. Many places and restaurants have started a no straw policy, even Starbucks has an adult sippy cup lid, that way you can order your caramel iced macchiato without a straw. You can even go the extra mile and bring your favorite reusable coffee travel mug to your favorite coffee place and while you are at it, get yourself a reusable water bottle.
#2: Utensils and food storage. If you are like me and order Postmates or Uber Eats on the daily at work (shame on us), it’s time to get reusable utensils you can stash in your handbag, work desk, or locker. Also, if you bring food from home I got you covered with reusable silicone food bags and beeswax food covers.
#3: Let’s say bye to plastic bags. It’s time for reusable shopping, grocery and produce bags. Oh also, forget about the typical kitchen trash bags, upgrade to plant based biodegradable ones. If you have a dog, you can get biodegradable puppy poop bags. Earth will thank you.
#4: Let’s talk about things you need in your home. Laundry wool balls that reduce your drying time. Yes to lower electric bill. Reusable K cups for all who use a Keurig, or if you are like me and still use the regular coffee machine, here’s a reusable coffee filter.
For the skincare obsessed get yourselves reusable organic cotton rounds.
Other things I’ve got my eye on are reusable bamboo paper towel, eco friendly bamboo toothbrushes and reusable lint rollers, since I have two cats.
