New year, same me -- just with a blog

Since the New Year is all about resolutions and goals, I decided to finally do it and start blogging. Starting a blog has been something I’ve been really wanting to do since 2008. Before I continue on, I must tell you a secret: this is not my first time starting a blog, per se. In 2008, Fashgasmic was born, which was a blog solemnly about my favorite MySpace bands and I would write about all the tours I went to see and their outfits. Then on Tumblr, Fashgasmic came to be; there I just reposted style inspo pictures. Later, in 2013, Bedazzled World was born, which was a YouTube styling channel, in which I only posted a video (and had like 10 views). Sadly, but purposely, I deleted all trace of them (except the tumblr one), but don’t worry KatiaMaria.com is here and it’s staying. Yes, it has taken me 11 years to seriously start one and I’m starting it when the blogging world is possibly an over saturated market with tons of so-called gurus and influencers. You may be thinking, why start now? Well think about it like lawyers or doctors (or any profession for that matter), there are thousands of them out there and yet every university is filled with students wanting to be in either of those professional fields. Just as there are many lawyers and doctors that doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be more. The same goes to blogs just because there are millions of them that doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be more. I believe that each individual has their own unique perspective, style, personality, and most importantly, their own unique story to write about or showcase through creative outlets. For that matter, I decided to start mine today, the first day of 2019. I hope that by me sharing my experience in becoming an attorney at law while also starting a style blog inspires you. I can’t wait to share amazing content with you. Thank you for reading this and expect lots of style content, dressing on a budget, work/career advice, beauty, travels, lots of genuine and brutally honest reviews, whining about adulting, and so much more.

Until next time,

Katia María
